Arete is a hidden gem just outside Tepoztlan, offering a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation. The gardens and inviting yard are beautiful, and the hosts David and Elisabeth are incredibly welcoming. The food is delicious, especially breakfast, but having only a few rooms means it can feel quite exclusive. The location is peaceful, although it takes a bit of time to reach town.

My stay at Arete was simply delightful! The villa, set in beautiful gardens, offered a serene and relaxing atmosphere with attentive service from the owners. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with lovely bathrooms. While I thoroughly enjoyed the dining and amenities, I found the location a bit quiet for my taste, as it limited my exploration of Tepoztlan. Our stay at Arete was absolutely delightful! Tucked away just outside Tepoztlan, this newly renovated villa provides a serene escape surrounded by beautiful gardens and cozy amenities. The spacious rooms with lovely Mexican tiled baths were a perfect retreat. Although the dining options were excellent, the limited number of rooms meant the atmosphere was more intimate than bustling. Overall, it’s an ideal spot for relaxation, but it’s not the best fit if you’re looking for a more vibrant atmosphere or lots of nearby activities.
